Funeral Cover Products on Offer


BASIC COVER – $2,000 – $5,000
Covers the cost of basic cremation packages through essential funeral services.

EXTENDED LEVEL OF FUNERAL COVER – $5,000 TO $15,000
Includes funeral services, travelling costs, marae/church hireage costs, catering expenses, council burial plot prices or any other items you wish to add to your cover.

REPATRIATION COVER – $10,000 TO $30,000
Covers the cost of the funeral home expenses abroad, conveyance of the deceased back to New Zealand, the cost of the New Zealand funeral home expenses, travelling costs, marae hireage/church costs, catering expenses, council burial plot prices or any other items you wish to add to your cover.

 

IN ADDITION:
AIL New Zealand are also offering to our families as part of this partnership, Member Benefits for families who request our services. They each will be given a NO-COST $2,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment Benefit; and an additional $10,000 Accident Death Benefit for a one-time annual fee of $2 for the first year and $5 per year every year thereafter.

The cost of cover will be determined by the assessment made by the Funeral Director in consultation with their family member/s. By offering standard services available within our current packages, then talking through other wants and needs, by suggesting costs, we can suggest a round up cover package that can then be validated and further assessed for suitability
with AIL.


Areas that can be covered by consulting with the family/s are:

  • Standard Funeral & Professional Service Fees;
  • Casket Upgrade Fees;
  • Bereavement Accompany Vehicles;
  • Whanau Hearse and Travelling costs for immediate family members (Gas);
  • Church Hireage Fees & Clergy Fees for Ministers, Pastors, Celebrants etc.;
  • Flowers & Memorial Books;
  • Dove & Balloon Releases;
  • NZ Herald Death Notices;
 

PRE-PAID FUNERAL TRUST – Tipene Prepaid Funerals Trust


By putting aside a set amount weekly, fortnightly or monthly, you get the security and assurance that the money you set aside is taken care of for your future needs – whether $20 per week to $100 per month, however, the investment you put in is what you get back.

Through tailored funeral packages, our funeral directors will walk you through your planning needs, work to a suitable and affordable budget and ensure that you are well looked after and your investment is safe.

For example: Mrs Anderson came to arrange a funeral package for her husband. She’s received an estimate for Mr Anderson’s funeral package which costs $5,500. Mrs Anderson commits to $50 per week and pays towards her husband’s Prepaid Funeral Account for 52 weeks (1 year). Through the Prepaid Trust, she’s invested $2,600 towards Mr Anderson’s $5,500 funeral package. Mr Anderson has passed and Mrs Anderson has transferred her Prepaid Funeral Account balance for Mr Anderson over to Tipene Funerals to take care of his funeral arrangements leaving Mrs Anderson with $2,900 of Mr Anderson’s funeral account to pay.** If you’d like to know more about this option or would like to open your own Prepaid Funeral Trust Account with us, please don’t hesitate to contact us and make an appointment to sit and talk with one of our Funeral Directors who would be happy to explain

* Although an estimate will be generated by our Funeral Director, your estimate/quote is subject to inflation fees per year which is dependent on the total estimate given at the time. ** You will be required to sign both an application form at the time of sign up to understand that the Prepaid Funeral Trust Account has an administration fee and yearly maintenance fees. These fees are explained at the time of consultation with a Funeral Director. *** The estimate is for one specified individual only and cannot be transferred to another member of the family should their death occur before the member who has the Prepaid
Funeral Account.
