Born and raised in Auckland, Fiona is of Samoan and Croatian decent. Coming from the Samoan villages of Fogatuli – Savaii, Vaovai, Falevao, Sapunaua and Falealii.
A mother to one son, Fiona has been a Funeral Director for over fifteen years, first working with her parents company, Malua Funerals in Auckland which had been established for over 30 years. Prior to this, Fiona comes with a variety of experience from community development, hospitality and then Funeral Directing.
From time to time, Fiona enjoys the simple pleasures of cooking, helping those in need, singing (in tune…), being a mother to her son and being an active church member to the PIC Newton Church.
Fiona’s role as a Funeral Director is pivotal when working with families and communities. Predominantly working with Polynesians from the Islands, Fiona provides quality Funeral services through coordinating, arranging, directing and making sure the families she serves have been served with the highest regard and loves what she does with a passion.
Fiona says “I have experienced loss and understand the finer details in dealing with grief. I love being able to help relieve someone else’s pain and do it knowing it’s the best I can offer during those times of loss”.
Fiona further states: “I have such knowledge and compassion from my parents who taught us everything we know about this business, and for that I am eternally grateful…”
